Usain Bolt Wants Newly Born Prince George To Support Manchester United Not Ashton Villa

Olympic champion sprinter Usain Bolt believes that the son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge should support Manchester United, despite the child's Aston Villa connections.

A Huge Manchester United fan himself, Usain Bolt has told Prince William not to bring baby George up as an Aston Villa supporter and has instead urged the Duke of Cambridge to let his son follow ‘a winning team’.
Prince William, himself a huge Villans supporter and president of the Football Association, became a father for the first time last week as the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to Prince George.

But Olympic 100m champion Bolt has been quick to offer parenting advice to the royals, insisting the new member of the family – who already has his own Villa kit ready for the new season – would be much better off as a Manchester United fan.

‘The British royal family are great people – and I’ve been fortunate enough to meet some of them,’ said Bolt, who won the 100m at the London Anniversary Games at the weekend. ‘I want to give all my best to the Prince and Duchess on their firstborn.

‘I just hope he doesn’t follow in his daddy’s footsteps and become an Aston Villa fan. It isn’t fair to put a child through that – especially not a prince.

‘When the prince is old enough, I’d love to take him to Old Trafford. ‘It’s only fair he gets to support a winning team.’ Although with Paul Lambert’s youth policy at Villa Park, there’s every chance baby George could be starring for the first-team in the not-too-distant future.
