After 82 Matches In The Premier League, Manchester United Were Involved In A 0-0 Draw, Read More Here

Following the 0-0 draw between Manchester United and Chelsea on Monday night at Old Trafford, we scoured Twitter and a few other websites to put together statistics leading up to and after the match.

This was also the first 0-0 between United and Chelsea since May 2007
- You may call Jose Mourinho’s tactics boring or negative, but the Special One has lost just two competitive games as a manager during visits to Old Trafford (W3 D3 L2).

- This was the first Premier League 0-0 at Old Trafford in 77 games. The last one was against Arsenal in May 2009. Astonishing, no?

- This was also the first 0-0 between United and Chelsea since May 2007 (23 games since then).

Top the previous fact with this — three EPL matches this weekend ended goalless. That happened only twice on matchdays last season.

- Wayne Rooney, now called ‘The Wanted One’ after Chelsea’s pursuit of the striker, has scored 24 times in his last 28 games at Old Trafford. He also had all three of Manchester United’s shots on target.

- Fernando Torres may have failed to score last night, but no visiting player has scored more Premier League goals at Old Trafford than the Spaniard — three.

- One big fear for United fans — before full time on Monday night, their club had lost five of nine EPL games when it was 0-0 at half-time. They won the other four.

- Why was Andre Schurrle picked you ask? The German took 98 shots in the Bundesliga last season — second behind Stefan Kießling.

- Monday night is usually unproductive for Manchester United. They’ve lost three and drawn one out of their last five Monday fixtures.

- Why should Juan Mata have played, you ask? He had scored in each of his last three PM games versus Manchester United.

- United have suffered 14 Premier League defeats against Chelsea — more than against any other side.

- They were both picked as strikers and saw very little of the ball — Schurrle and Robin van Persie touched the ball just seven times in the opening 15 minutes. It was, very evidently, a fight of the midfielders.

- Chelsea won just one corner in the match!
