Peter Schmeichel Labels David De Gea Save As ‘One Of The Premier League’s Best’

Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel has described David De Gea’s first-half save against Sunderland as ‘one of the best’ he’s seen in the Premier League.

 

Sunderland raced into a 1-0 lead at the Stadium of Light through a fifth-minute Craig Gardner strike, but could have doubled their advantage but for a sensational stop from De Gea to deny Emanuele Giaccherini.

‘It’s one of the best saves I’ve seen in the Premier League,’ said Schmeichel in his half-time analysis on Sky. "He has to adjust his feet and it’s at a really difficult height as he has to dive upwards. It’s just a wonderful save – one we’ll see time and time again.
