Vote For Man Utd Player Of The Month
Three Reds are in contention for Manchester United's Player of the Month award for November and it's down to you, the fans, to vote for the winner.
First among our nominees is Wayne Rooney,
who has been instrumental in United's all-round play. Of 11 Reds goals
in November, Rooney has scored two, at Fulham and Cardiff, and was
involved in or directly assisted seven: Valencia at Fulham, van Persie
against Arsenal, Evra in Cardiff, plus four of the five goals against
Bayer Leverkusen. "He's a born winner and that has an effect on the
whole squad," says Chris Smalling.
Antonio Valencia has
a tough task beating Rooney, but he has returned to form this season,
scoring twice in November against Fulham and Bayer Leverkusen. Ex-Red
Mickey Thomas believes Valencia's displays have gone under the radar.
"I've been really impressed with Antonio," he says. "He's having a big
impact even though people haven't really mentioned it. His confidence is
back and he is key for van Persie and Rooney."
Our third candidate, Patrice Evra, starred at Real Sociedad, scored in Cardiff and defensively contributed to three clean sheets in November. "He's been one of our best players this year," says Denis Irwin. "I'm not surprised he's a contender this month. He's been really solid, scored at Cardiff and knows United inside out; he's a good lad in the dressing room, a leader and a bubbly character. He's been great."
